Lost or Stolen?

This page is intended to give you the most vital information quickly in cases of dog theft.

If your dog has been stolen, report it immediately to:

* The police
* The local authority dog warden service
* The Petlog Reunification Service (if microchipped)
* The National Dog Tattoo Register (if tattooed)

Crime Reference Number

The police are duty bound to take the report of a crime seriously. If you believe your dog has been stolen, report it to the police and ask for a Crime Reference Number.


Log Number

A Log Number may be issued when information is reported to the police.


Vets

Inform as many vets as possible if your dog has been lost or stolen. This website - www.vetlist.co.uk - will provide you with the names and addresses of veterinary surgeons in your area. Vets often respond quicker to faxes, so use a fax machine if possible.


Battersea

Dogs found in central London are usually taken straight to Battersea Dogs Home. You can contact their Lost Dogs and Cats line directly on 0901 477 8477. Calls cost 60p per minute. Alternatively, you can visit their website by clicking here.
